The All Star list is out recognizing the Finger Lakes players for the 2007 season. Defenseman Michael Manley and Goalie RJ Wickham from Penn Yan were selected as USLAcrosse All Americans. Senior midfielder,Charlie Sauter from Canandaigua was selected by the Finger Lakes coaches as the 2006 USLacrosse Academic All American.

# 1851  Semi Final Games - Classes B and C

Waterloo (#3) used overtime to beat Livonia (#2) 11-10 in the only game of the day that was not won by the higher seed. Peen Yan was an 18-1 winner over Midlakes in the other Class C semi final. In Class B Geneva beat Victor 13-6 and McQuaid Jesuit was a 15-11 winner over Eastridge.

In a much anticipated game, Penn Yan avenged an earlier loss to Canandaigua, with an exciting last minute 8-7 home victory. Midlakes held of a late effort by Pal-Mac, Livonia put themselves into the finals of the GRALL Championship and Geneva and Waterloo were winners in Friday action.

Proving how close the Class A teams are this year, Schroeder beat Irondequoit in a close game (6-5). Rush-Henrietta was an 11-7 winner over Churchville-Chili. Livonia beat Aquinas, Brighton beat Gates in OT, Penn Yan beat Amherst and Fairport beat Orchard Park. Other winners included Eastridge, Penfield, Hilton, Pittsford and Newark.

A number of games were impacted by thunder storms in the afternoon and evening. Section Five and NYS rules require that players and spectators be removed from the field when lighting is seen or thunder heard. There must be a period of 30 minutes without thunder or lightning before play may be resumed.

Penn Yan may be one of the smallest schools playing lacrosse in Section Five but it is one of the best in the State and although their reserved and cautious Head Coach, Brian Hobart, might not like to talk about it, the Mustangs are ready to pursue a real campaign for another Class C New York State Title.

The rematch of HF-L and Brighton drew attention tonight and the Cougars again were the victors, but in a closer game than back in early April. McQuaid Jesuit won another game by a single goal, as did Victor in their game with Waterloo. Canandaigua's Head Coach John Johnson won his 350th game. Ten other games were played in Section Five on Thursday.

Bloomfield-Honeoye picked up a win over visiting Marcus Whitman, where the two new coaches, Ryan Kerrick at Whitman and Brandon Trombley at B-H faced off in their first contest together. Both are both alumni of Penn Yan Academy.

In a battle of former Penn Yan Players, Head Coach Brandon Trombley (Bloomfield-Honeoye) and Head Coach Ryan Kerrick (Marcus Whitman) faced off against each other. Bloomfield-Honeoye scored the first nine goals in their 16-10 win over Marcus Whitman. The Pride took control early and then slowed down in the second half and allowed Marcus Whitman to come closer. Leading the Pride was Tyler Joslyn with 4g-2a.
